Maintenance is not about “going back to your old ways”, it is about finding a new path forward.
One of the things I always tell my clients when they start any health/fitness journey is this, “One of the mindsets I want to steer you away from is the, ‘let me get this done so I can go back to my old ways’ mindset.
As far as we are concerned, the old ways are gone… they are no longer part of who we are”.
The goal with maintenance is to find more sustainable, positive habits, that allow you to thrive in caloric balance and have flexibility and freedom to live well.
Not to go back to the habits that put you in the place you were before.
