Macros Inc Privacy Policy

Macros Inc (“we,” “our,” or “us”) explains in this Privacy Policy how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our websites, applications, and services (collectively, the “Services”). This policy does not name a particular application. We may update, replace, or discontinue any application, and this policy still applies.

If you are covered by Washington’s My Health My Data Act or Nevada SB 370, read our Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice. If that notice conflicts with this policy on consumer health data, the notice controls.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following:

  • Identity and contact data: name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and account login details.
  • Payment and billing data: the fact of a purchase, plan, price, billing status, and the last digits or token returned by our payment processor. Our processor handles the card. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Demographic data: age, gender, and country, if you provide them.
  • Health and fitness data: nutrition, dietary goals, height, weight, body measurements, training information, calculator inputs and results, and other health-related information you choose to share for coaching. If you use the macro calculator or another form, we may store those inputs and results in our email and customer system, use them to send you your results, and use a stated goal to send marketing about our coaching. We do not send those inputs or results to advertising platforms, and we do not use them to build advertising audiences.
  • Connected health apps: if you connect Apple Health or Health Connect in the client portal, we receive the categories you authorize, such as activity, weight, or other health data those apps are permitted to share.
  • Communications: messages you send us, support requests, and, if you opt in, SMS message status.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, access times, pages viewed, and features used.
  • Advertising and analytics data: cookie identifiers, pixels, click IDs, and events about visits and actions on our Services, including page views and purchases of general coaching, used to measure, segment, and run advertising. We do not send health and fitness data, or data from Apple Health or Health Connect, to advertising platforms. GLP-1 Coaching pages and any condition-specific product pages send no advertising events. Buyers of those products are not included in uploaded customer lists. Event names stay generic, such as Purchase, and do not name GLP-1, a condition, or a medication.

2. Health and Fitness Data

Health and fitness data is information you choose to give us, or authorize a connected app to give us, so we can provide coaching. We are not a HIPAA covered entity, and this data is not a medical record. We do not use it to manage, adjust, or advise on medication.

We use health and fitness data to provide, operate, and secure the Services, and to produce aggregated, de-identified research as described below. Data from Apple Health or Health Connect is not included in that research unless you have given explicit permission for that research use. We do not use health and fitness data for advertising. We do not sell it. Data received from Apple Health or Health Connect is used only to provide the service, or as you direct. It is not used for advertising or marketing, it is not sold, and it is not transferred except to provide the service or as you direct.

Where Washington’s My Health My Data Act or Nevada SB 370 applies, our Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice explains the additional consent, withdrawal, and deletion rights for this data.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including coaching and any nutrition-tracking application included with a subscription.
  • Process transactions, manage your account, and prevent fraud.
  • Communicate with you about your account, and send updates, newsletters, and promotional messages. You can unsubscribe from marketing email, and you can reply STOP to end SMS.
  • Measure and improve the Services, including analytics.
  • Run, measure, segment, and personalize advertising, and find audiences similar to people who visit or buy.
  • Respond to comments, questions, and support requests.
  • Comply with law and protect our rights.

Our coaches may use artificial intelligence tools to assist in preparing parts of your coaching, including meal and macro plans, training programs, and communications. AI-assisted content is reviewed by your coach before it is provided to you. Information used for that purpose is used to provide the Services.

4. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies on our websites and applications. We use them to run the Services, remember settings, measure performance, and advertise.

We use advertising, analytics, and customer-relationship tools to understand which campaigns lead to visits and purchases and to show our ads to people who are likely to be interested. Those tools may receive identifiers and events about a visit or action, such as a page view, a checkout, or a purchase of general coaching, and a customer list of contact information. They do not receive health and fitness data, or data from Apple Health or Health Connect. GLP-1 Coaching pages and any condition-specific product pages send no advertising events. Buyers of those products are not included in uploaded customer lists. Event names stay generic, such as Purchase, and do not name GLP-1, a condition, or a medication.

You can opt out of advertising cookies in the cookie settings on our site, or by emailing us. Where required, we treat a Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of sharing for targeted advertising. Browser controls can also block cookies. Blocking them may limit site features and advertising measurement. Opting out of advertising cookies does not cancel a subscription or stop service emails.

5. How We Disclose Information

We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. You can opt out of sharing for targeted advertising in the cookie settings on our site, by emailing [email protected], or by using a Global Privacy Control signal.

We may share information as follows:

  • Service providers that process payments, host data, deliver email or SMS, provide customer support, provide analytics, or provide the tools we use to operate the Services. They may use the information only to perform services for us.
  • Advertising and analytics partners, which may receive identifiers, site and app activity, and purchase events for general coaching, for measurement, attribution, segmentation, and advertising, including customer lists used to build audiences. Under some state laws this is treated as sharing for targeted advertising. We do not share health and fitness data, or data from Apple Health or Health Connect, with these partners. We do not send GLP-1 Coaching or other condition-specific product events, and we do not include those buyers in uploaded lists.
  • Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in data are not shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
  • A buyer or successor, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Authorities, advisors, or others, when we believe disclosure is required by law or needed to protect the rights, safety, and property of Macros Inc, our users, or others, or to address fraud or a violation of our terms.

We may use aggregated, de-identified data for research, analytics, and academic purposes, including publication in scientific journals and presentations. This data does not contain information that could reasonably identify you. We will not disclose your identity or individual-level data in that research without your explicit consent. Apple Health and Health Connect data is excluded unless you have given explicit permission for that research use.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, to opt out of sharing for targeted advertising, and to ask us to limit use of health and fitness data to providing your coaching. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We will respond as required by applicable law. We may need to verify your request. Deletion does not require us to delete information we must keep for legal, security, or accounting reasons, or information that has been de-identified. Consumer health data rights are in the Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice.

You can opt out of marketing email with the unsubscribe link, and out of SMS by replying STOP. You can disconnect Apple Health or Health Connect in the client portal. Disconnecting stops new data from that app.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, including providing the Services, meeting legal, tax, and accounting duties, and resolving disputes. We then delete or de-identify it.

9. Children

The Services are for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States. Your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. By using the Services, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version with a new effective date. Additional notice will be given only if required by law. The posted policy describes our current practices.
