Are artificial sweeteners and/or diet soda bad for you?

Diet sodas have not been found to be harmful to a person’s health or body weight. Most stories about diet soda being bad for your health are correlation studies, looking for a relationship between two sets of data.
As artificial sweeteners are zero calorie, they do not contribute to your body composition. However, many people tend to over eat while having diet soda, as they eat more because of their low calorie beverage.
While diet soda may not impact body composition or spike insulin, diet soda has been linked to poor dental hygiene.
