Red, White & Freedom Candy Bark
A colourful, festive candy bark made with swirls of red, white, and blue candy melts, topped with sprinkles, edible stars, and a touch of glitter for shimmer. This easy, no-bake treat is perfect for summer parties and patriotic celebrations, offering a fun and customisable dessert experience for all ages.
Method
-
Line a baking tray or flat board with baking paper.
-
Spoon the melted white candy onto the tray, using roughly twice as much white as each of the coloured melts.
-
Add spoonfuls of the melted red and blue candy around the white chocolate.
-
Using an offset spatula or butter knife, gently swirl the colours together to create a marbled effect. Avoid overmixing to keep the colours distinct.
-
Scatter the sprinkles, edible stars, and glitter evenly over the surface while the candy is still melted.
-
Transfer the tray to the freezer for around 20 minutes, or until completely set.
-
Once firm, break the bark into irregular pieces and serve.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use white chocolate instead of candy melts?
Yes. White chocolate can be coloured with oil-based food colouring if you'd like a similar effect.
Do I have to freeze the bark?
No. Refrigerating it will also work, although it may take a little longer to fully set.
Can I make this for other holidays?
Absolutely. Simply swap the colours and sprinkles to suit Christmas, Halloween, Easter, birthdays, or any special occasion.
How do I stop the colours from blending together?
Swirl gently with just a few passes of the knife or spatula. Overmixing will create one solid colour instead of a marbled pattern.
How far ahead can I make this bark and how should I store it?
You can prepare the bark a few days in advance and store it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Place baking paper between layers to prevent sticking.
Can I make this recipe vegan or gluten-free?
Yes! Use vegan or dairy-free candy melts and ensure your sprinkles and decorations are free from gluten or animal products.
