Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9×13” baking dish with cooking spray.

  2. Open Crescent Rolls and place along the bottom of the dish. Press down to spread and even out along the bottom and part of the sides of the dish. Try to seal the seams as much as possible to form a good base.

  3. In a medium-sized bowl, add egg whites and ranch seasoning. Briefly whisk egg whites to mix in the seasoning and to fluff them up.

  4. Pour the egg whites over crescent rolls and place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the egg whites have fully cooked and crescent rolls are starting to turn golden brown.

  5. Take out and sprinkle with the shredded cheese before placing them back in the oven. Bake for a few more minutes until the cheese has melted.

  6. Serve and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use regular crescent rolls instead of reduced-fat?

Yes, regular crescent rolls will work fine though the recipe will have more fat and calories. The texture and flavor will be richer.

What can I use as a substitute for ranch seasoning mix?

You can make your own seasoning mix using 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp salt, and 0.25 tsp black pepper as suggested in the recipe.

Can I make this recipe vegan or dairy-free?

To make it vegan or dairy-free, substitute the egg whites with a plant-based egg alternative and use dairy-free shredded cheese.

How do I know when the egg whites are fully cooked?

The egg whites are cooked when they are set and no longer liquid, and the crescent rolls start turning golden brown at the edges.

Can I prepare this ahead of time?

You can prepare the base and egg mixture ahead of time but bake just before serving for best texture. Leftovers store well in the fridge and reheat crisply in an air fryer.
