Who We Are

Meet the Team Behind Macros Inc

We’re coaches, nutritionists, and fitness experts dedicated to making health simple, sustainable, and life-changing.

See our team
Est. 2016

Our Story

Macros Inc began in 2016 with a simple idea — create a free community where fitness, health, and happiness felt possible for everyone.

That community has since helped hundreds of thousands transform their lives, and soon the demand for more personal support gave birth to our coaching services.

Nine years later, we’ve grown, stumbled, learned, and laughed together (yes, even through Jay’s beard phase). The journey hasn’t always been easy — and that’s exactly why we understand our clients so well.

Every client’s story is unique. For some it’s a comeback, for others it’s a discovery of confidence they’d only dreamed of.

Our Mission

To provide world-class, front-line health coaching directly to consumers as well as health professionals around the world.

Evidence-based health solutions
Emotionally intelligent interactions
Commitment to client empathy

No matter your motivation, this is your chance to write a new chapter. We’re here to make sure it’s one worth remembering.

Macros Inc Team

The team that shows up for you, every day.

From our founders to our coaches to the people behind the scenes, everyone here is working toward the same goal: your success. Every Macros Inc coach holds a recognized personal training qualification and specialist nutrition certification, is fully insured, and keeps their credentials current. No exceptions.

I believe there is no one way to a goal that works for everyone, and no one way that works for one person all the time. I believe strongly in the power of flexibility in approach, and I know this journey can feel stressful and frustrating at times. Colt Sainas

Lead Coach

📍 Canada

I’m a Lead Coach at Macros Inc., where I help clients improve their health, strength, and relationship with food in ways they can actually maintain. I’m certified in personal training, nutrition, women’s health, and menopause coaching, and I bring over 10+ years of hands-on experience across a wide range of training styles, including bodybuilding, powerlifting, and both long- and short-distance running. My approach focuses on explaining the why, because lasting change comes from understanding yourself, your patterns, and the challenges that show up along the way. When that internal work clicks, the physical results tend to follow and actually stick.

I find that the best approach to lifestyle change is a combination of reality-check conversations, grace, and always having a mindset to grow. Nothing has to be perfect, but we do need to be honest and realistic about what we truly want and what we are willing to change on this journey. If nothing changes, nothing changes!

I got into fitness when I was barely a teenager and the nutrition part was always interesting, too, but I didn't know where to get the information I was after. The internet didn't exist back then! In college, I majored in Kinesiology until I decided to switch to Sociology; these two majors may not seem like they go together, but it's amazing how much insight we can gain from learning more about society and people in general, and how that all relates to nutrition & health. The journey to becoming a coach wasn't a direct one, but I've learned a lot along the way and couldn't be happier with where I've landed.

Tessa Codina

Tessa Codina

Coach

📍 USA

My journey in fitness began in college, when I realized I wanted to feel more confident in my own skin and had a natural pull toward looking strong and athletic and building muscle. After recognizing that my lifestyle at the time wasn't aligned with those goals, I hired a coach, competed in bodybuilding, and eventually fell in love with powerlifting, continuing to build my physique ever since. As a coach, I believe there are many paths to the same goal, and I focus on what will motivate each client to stay active, strong, and consistent through sustainable training and nutrition habits, prioritizing balance over perfection and cutting through the noise and misinformation in the industry.

I love the relationships I get to build with my clients as they work to achieve their goals. Empowering others to be their best selves is my favorite thing! My coaching style is empathetic and patient yet honest and forthcoming. Just as it takes years to develop the ideas and habits we have in place, it takes time to replace them with new, healthier habits. There's often a gap between having the knowledge and following through with it, so I'm here to help bridge that gap.

Shelley Hanaver-Torrez

Shelley Hanaver-Torrez

My lifelong interest in nutrition and fitness led me to attain my personal training certification in 2016. After that, I realized that the hardest part of body composition is nutrition and decided to build that knowledge base as well. Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom, I worked with adults with developmental disabilities, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to set goals that kept our clients safe, healthy, and continually striving to be the best version of themselves. When I became a stay-at-home mom, I took my passive interest in fitness and nutrition and turned it into a new career. I regret not doing it sooner!
